Overview
I am a designer and creative living in the Portland Metro area of Oregon. I have over 12 years of new media and print design experience. I have a wife, two sons, two beagles, and three cats. I love the Web and digital media and have a variety of personal projects going on. My interests range from art and design, to illustration and animation, to software design, to product design and merchandising. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, walk the dogs, tend to my yard, play games, listen to music, watch a good flick, enjoy a good beer, and read.

Current Work
I've been doing a wide range of work the last two years. Current interests are include mobile and iPhone design - both Web apps and full applications. I've been working on a series of animated screen savers as well that I find very interesting. Other work includes video development and editing. One of the big things that Adobe Max underscored were Flash and HTML applications, which bring a liberating form of rapid development with them, compared to traditional software.

Previously, I had been doing a lot of work on 10' application and service design for Microsoft® Windows™ Media Center and Intel® Viiv™ technology. Digital entertainment and the future of digital home is a very interesting field right now. It reminds me of where we were in 1996 with the Web. It was new and exciting, but standard practices hadn't been developed and everyone was trying to figure out how to make it financially viable as well as being friendly to the user. That is where we are with Digital Home. The potential is there, but a lot of work on the technology, applications, and entertainment services has to be done to make it a wholesale success like the Web has been. I feel that my skills as both a designer and a developer work well in the new 10' space because it's the blend of design and technology that is needed to get around the current limitations of the technology.
